How do we secure that Danish companies have access to digital competent employees in the future? How do we prepare citizens to take part in the digitalization and in entrepreneurial practices deriving from digital fabrication technologies? How do we develop a society that take advantage of the emerging technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence to foster an environment for smart living and prosperity for all? Understanding the world around us has always been a core element in education. In the 21st Century, we need the new generations to understand the technology that surrounds us and encourage them to creatively engage with new technologies in entrepreneurial ways.
This is a question policy-makers, scholars and educators from elementary school to higher education are currently discussing. Computational Thinking/Digital Fabrication is an approach that enables students to understand the technology around them and provides them with structured ways for engaging creatively with new technologies in entrepreneurial ways. Computational Thinking is a methodology suited for the 21st century education, which can be applied across all fields; construction, medicine, biotech, finance, design, media or any other field.
We are very proud to announce a new fellowship program within this field, which will allow Danish PhD’s and Post.Docs to collaborate with some of the best US research environments in the field.
